Zen's Thoughts
Peace comes to those who seek it.
Knowledge comes to those who seek it.
Wisdom comes to those who seek it.
Riches comes to those who work at it.
Goodness comes to those that are good.
Evil comes to those that sit and wait.
Knowledge comes to those who seek it.
Wisdom comes to those who seek it.
Riches comes to those who work at it.
Goodness comes to those that are good.
Evil comes to those that sit and wait.

What Happens in the Backyard Stays in the Backyard
A short story by Roger.
Mary was gone and I was home alone. I got up early, took a shower and got inspired. Our shower curtain has little fishies on it, all different colors. I decided to make Mary another pond and use the shower curtain for the liner.
Well, me and Buster and Rags started digging the hole. They were a lot faster 'cause they had really practiced their digging. We got it dug out enough and I brought out the shower curtain. I guess I should have known better because Buster and Rags went and hid and left me to finish on my own. I built a nice pond even if it was a bit small. The shower curtain sure looked bigger in the bathroom. I filled it with water and then put a few of Mary’s Shubunkins in it. I thought they would really like the little fishies on the “liner”. The Shubunkins started acting all funny; floating on top, lying still on the bottom. I just figured they were snubbing the little fishies on the “liner”. About that time Buster showed up chewing on a bottle of Ammo-Lock. Too late, those fish were goners.
I heard Mary’s truck pull up and I nearly panicked. First thing she went to the bathroom and second thing she yelled out “Where's my Helen Nash autographed, limited edition, very rare shower curtain?" By then I was pretty well convinced that we didn’t need another pond anyway. So I told Mary that I had taken her Helen Nash autographed, limited edition, very rare shower curtain outside to wash and air it out. I gave her my copy of “War and Peace” and told her to just sit on the pot and read; I’d take care of it. I went outside, yanked the shower curtain out of that hole, rinsed it off and took it back inside. One good thing, I had a big hole to bury those dead Shubunkins in so that Mary would never find them. I just hope Buster and Rags don’t dig them up! I told them if they did that I would swear they had caught the fish.
Now when I take a shower I like to think the little fishies are laughing about the pond and not laughing at me.
P.S. Don’t tell Mary.
